Gardeners Cottage

Initial consultation and site visit

The first visit, which typically lasts approximately two hours, offers the chance for you to meet me and discuss the project in depth. It also offers a chance for me to view the site and to gain an understanding of your needs. This is also an opportunity for you to view and discuss my portfolio.

There is a fee for the initial consultation, but it is offset against further design work should you wish to proceed.

Estimate and Brief

Following the initial visit a brief and an estimate for the design and survey will be prepared and sent to you for approval along with terms and conditions.

Survey

Once the brief and estimated costs have been approved a full survey will be arranged.

Design Plan

Following the survey, a design will be drawn up and presented in the form of a hand coloured outline plan. This will show hard landscaping details and structural planting. This is then subject to final amendments and approval.

Planting Plan, Plant Schedule, Setting Out and Construction Drawings

Once the detailed design plan has been signed off a full planting plan and plant schedule will be drawn up, along with construction and setting out drawings as necessary, plus all other documentation that is relevant such as specification documents. These enable landscaping companies to quote on constructing the garden.

Project Monitoring

In some cases clients may want help with appointing a contractor. I am able to provide a list of reputable firms to submit quotes to you and collate the information should you wish. Once the contractor is appointed I am able to monitor the implementation of your garden.
