A classical garden and house set in the heart of a Somerset village. It is surrounded by beautiful countryside with a parkland feel to it and has a stream running along the lower boundary. The existing structure in the rear garden was good but the planting needed to be revised. By building a wall across part of the driveway to the side of the house a classic courtyard garden was created. To link this to the rear garden, the path down the side of the house was smartened up by setting paving into the lawn and adding pleached crabapples along the boundary to create privacy from the neighbours.
