A lovely old Dorset farm house with a large garden, which was in need of renovation and further development following the conversion of an old cow shed into living quarters. The brief was to create a terrace in front of the long single story building whilst evolving the rest of the garden, so that the house was set into context and the outer edges of the garden blended into the landscape. A shaded area in which to eat and entertain was critical, as the terrace is south facing. The pool was settled into the landscape by surrounding it with natural ponds and planting. As seen, great care has been taken to blend the garden into the wider landscape and to encourage wildlife. The garden now sits beautifully in context with its surroundings.
